About us

We are Chris and Suzee Charchalis and here's a little information about us.

Charchy spent most of his working life in the fruit and vegetable industry. He loves the outdoors and took his kids camping at every opportunity. When he wasn't selling bananas, he was running dozens of martial arts dojos in and around Brisbane. As an accomplished martial artist and sensei, fight promotor, and concert security/crowd control he worked with some of the biggest entertainment names including Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, Joe Cocker, Boy George and Culture Club, Madonna, Cold Chisel and U2. His stories from this era are certainly campfire-worthy. In his spare time, he loved riding his Harley-Davidson with the boys.

I'm a city girl at heart. I have no camping experience and don't like anything with more than four legs (or no legs for that matter). I worked in various industries including export, architecture, interior design, real estate, education, community service organisations and even ran my own beauty business. I guess you could call me a jack of all trades, master of none.

Our paths crossed one night at a charity event where Charchy was working a stand with his fellow biker mates. Tonka was just a pup, and he won me over with his compassion (not his dancings skills as once rumoured). We married 6 months later at Niagara Falls, Canada. One thing is certain - together, we make a formidable team. We love to laugh and always see the funny side of every situation. We never argue......like, ever!

We have been inspired to create a space where we can share our experiences as we embark on full-time motorhome travel. We want to travel as much of this beautiful country as possible, meet people and see places we've only dreamed about.

You'll note that nowhere in this bio does it mention any social media background. No editing skills. No film production. Not even a camera technique course. That's because we're beginners - all self taught, so bear with us while we master the skills needed to produce our YouTube channel, Facebook and Instagram and, indeed, this website. We want to share our experiences in a raw, unfiltered, what you see is what you get, unscripted, reality type of way. We banter. It's what we do best. We hope you will enjoy following along and we look forward to meeting you on the road somewhere.
